Date Line.
Day 2 Kunming
Kunming, one of the historical and cultural cities of China, is embellished with beautiful scenery and natural wonders that have won its reputation of being the lustrous pearl of Yunnan. Owing to its altitude (2,000 meters) and its tropical situation, this provincial capital maintains a mild climate all year round with an annual average temperature of 18C. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to the Kunming Bank Hotel.
Day 3 Kunming B/L/D
Yunnan Province is made up of twentysix
ethnic nationalities the largest in China. Each nationality speaks a different language and follows different customs. Morning visit to a minority village. The Stone Forest is located 89 kilometres from Kunming and has a collection of grey limestone pillars, formed about 270 million years ago by the sea, rain and wind. The Store Forest covers an area of 350 square
kilometres. Enjoy a dinner with local
cultural performances.
Day 4 Kunming B/L/D
The Western Hills Forest Park is located
on the bank of the Dianchi Lake. The
highest peak is 2,500 metres above sea
level. The Dragon Gate, made up of grottoes, steps, chambers and stone
carving work has taken stonemasons 72
years to complete.
Day 5 Kunming / Dali B/L/D
Transfer to the airport for a morning
flight to Dali, the capital of the Nanzhao Kingdom and the Bai minority. Dali is situated at the corner of Erhai Lake and the Cangshan Mountain, 1900 metres above sea level. Upon arrival, you will visit the old town of Dali where the traditional homes of the Bai people are well preserved and enjoy a scenery cruise on Erhai Lake. |

Day 6 Dali B/L/D
Today's sightseeing includes a visit to
the Three Pagodas of Chongshen
Monastery and a cable car ride up the
Cangshan Mountain.
Day 7 Dali - Lijiang B/L/D
Morning departure for Lijiang. Enroute,
visit the Bai Minority Village and the
Butterfly Spring. Lijiang was made a
World Cultural Heritage Site in 1997 by
UNESCO. It is the centre of the Naxi
people, a minority group with a richly
textured culture.
Day 8 Lijiang B/L/D
Journey up to the Yulong Mountain
located 4,000 metres above sea level
and explore the beautiful surroundings.
In the evening, enjoy a Naxi Classical
Music Performance.
Day 9 Lijiang - Zhongdian B/L/D
Travel overland to Zhongdian, a Tibetan
minority area in Yunnan. En route stop
at the Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the
deepest gorges in the world with the
water striking the banks at horrifying
speeds. Afternoon tour of the 300-year old Songzanlin Monastery.
Day 10 Zhongdian B/L/D
Full day tour of the Bita Lake, the
natural forest preservation area. The
plateau is entirely dominated by the
influence of Tibetan culture. Besides,
the area is a treasure house of biodiversity, pristine lakes and snow capped peaks. It is known as the “Shangri-la”, land of Tibetan paradise.
Day 11 Zhongdian - Kunming B
Transfer to the airport for a flight to
Kunming. Rest of the day is free at
leisure.
Day 12 Kunming B
Transfer to the airport for your departure. |
